Start with the home row
The home row is where fingers rest: the left hand sits on A S D F and the right hand on J K L. Most keyboards have a small bump on the F and J keys so kids can find "home" without looking. From here, each finger reaches up and down to nearby keys, then returns home.
How to use this chart
- Match the colour under each key to the finger of the same colour.
- Keep both thumbs resting near the space bar.
- Practise the home row first, then add the top and bottom rows.
- Look at the screen, not the hands — the colours help build muscle memory.
